2011 - A Year of Growth
Whilst 2011 will be remembered as a year of budget cuts, downsizing and general doom and gloom, we bucked the trend with our most successful year to date. We managed to grow our client base by 25%, recruited 10 new members to our team, and helped our clients win more new business than in any previous year. Whilst it certainly was not without its challenges, it was a great effort by everyone involved.
The success of our business is intrinsically linked to our clients winning new business means that this was not just a good year for us, but for our clients too. In a year where agencies and their fees were scrutinised by brands, but levels of delivery expected to stay the same, it was no surprise that opportunities existed for forward thinking and well positioned agencies to take advantage of this. Our team helped our clients to generate over £4 million worth of fees from new clients; with the likes of Amex, Estee Lauder, Mars, Sony and UKTV to name but a few. Whilst many brands have limited the size of projects, now is a great opportunity for client development over the coming years as the relationship is established.
Our success in 2011 was underpinned by a change in the structure of our team with clients now benefitting from a Director, Business Development Manager, Account Manager and our Research team, all dedicated to their account. This allows us to develop integrated contact strategies that bring together a variety of channels – including seminars, PR, social media and e-campaigns - to support and enhance our calling activity; bringing these all together to keep you top of mind with prospective clients for that time when they need your support. We’ve also invested in a number of tools to support this activity including salesforce, dotmailer and our own in-house tool, Darwin.
Upfront are committed to continuing to develop our offering to provide each of our clients with a more complete solution to business development, and helping grow their businesses. 2012 has already got off to an exciting start for us and many of our clients and we have seen £700k worth of agencies fees. We are also delighted to welcome a number of new clients on board and - in addition to building on the success of our existing client relationships - we are looking forward to helping more agencies than ever achieve significant new business growth.
