Financial brand launches new mobile banking app
Halifax has launched its Mobile Banking app on the most popular smartphone platforms.
The app is available on BlackBerry, Apple, Android and Nokia (available in the coming days).
The app allows users to access and manage money while they are on the go as well as locate the nearest branch or find an ATM.
According to current research more than 36% of UK consumers use smartphones compared to less than one in 10 two years ago. In Europe 18% of consumers use Mobile Banking, compared with 13% in 2010. Nearly one in five smartphone owners prefer using apps rather than internet browsers on their handsets.
The Halifax Mobile Banking App launched earlier this week and has already hit the number one spot in Finance apps on the iTunes App Store.
The app was built by mobile developers Grapple.
