Upfront Data & Insights

Upfront have developed Darwin as an online new business tool, to provide in-house new business teams with daily leads, insights, and key decision maker details across the UK’s leading brands.

Darwin Database
The Darwin database contains over 12,500 contacts, from 4300 leading companies, across 28 industry sectors. This includes key decision maker contacts across Marketing, Digital and Procurement Departments. The database continues to grow. However, the key point of differentiation we have from our competitors is the quality, not quantity of data in the database. Every contact is validated at least once every 3 months. We also undertake bespoke validation projects for our clients to identify harder to find decision makers, or contacts within niche market segments.

The Premium Darwin subscription allows you to export any contact records throughout the year across all sectors, to compile bespoke database and mailing lists. Additionally if you let the Darwin team know about companies you want to validate but which are not currently on the system, we will aim to add those companies within 48 hours.

Movers and Shakers
We compile a monthly Movers & Shakers list for new contacts that have recently taken on a new role, and provide live updates on the Darwin site.

Top 100 mailing lists
We provide monthly Top 100 lists based on sector or discipline specific league tables. Providing relevant key decision makers and contact details. In January we provided the ‘Top 100 Search Spenders’, February will be the ‘Top 100 Grocery Brands’.

Daily Stories and Insights
Our team scour over 180 trade press publications to find the breaking news and new business insights that will add relevance to your new business approach. We provide circa 20 stories a day from the industries you are targeting, which allows you to monitor opportunities and be up-to-date with the news in each of your target industry sectors.

Leads and Tenders
We also constantly monitor tender and pitch announcements through a variety of sources and announce them via the Darwin site, enabling subscribers to have one, concise source of UK and EMEA tenders.
In addition to this, the Darwin team are in touch with news-makers on a daily basis, following up stories, providing insights into upcoming reviews and new business opportunities.

Agency Exchange
We help brands identify and select appropriate agencies for upcoming work across all communications disciplines, help them to manage the RFP process through to pitch and appointing an agency partner.
We recently helped a motor insurance company appoint a brand agency, put forward a short list of agencies for a leading ferry line, and are currently working with an online casino to appoint a digital media partner. Typically we would expect 1 or 2 live opportunities each month across all disciplines.

  • British Food Company Appoints Marketing Controller

    Bernard Matthews has appointed Mr Rajinder Sahota to the newly created role of marketing controller.Sahota will be responsible for the Bootiful branding as well as the own-label business.He will also oversee a bigger TV advertising investment for 2011 than in 2010 and will head up “innovative NPD” and the continuation of the marketing activities with brand ambassador Marco Pierre White.
